Biography

Dr. Robert A. Hozman is a Chicagoland native who attended Northwestern University and completed his undergraduate degree in three years time. In 1978 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. He subsequently completed his medical school education at the University of Illinois. Dr. Hozman served both his internship and residency at Lutheran General Hospital from the period of 1982-1985. Upon completion of his internal medicine residency, he immediately sought board certification.


Robert Hozman chose to further pursue his interest in the field of Rheumatology from the period of 1985-1987 when he completed a well-recognized fellowship program in Rheumatology at the University of Illinois and Cook County Hospitals. In 1987 he began practicing medicine in the private practice sector. In 1988 he obtained Board Certification in Rheumatology. From the period of 1988-1995 he served as the Director of the Arthritis Center at Lake Forest Hospital Pain Treatment Center. He has lectured extensively on behalf of the Arthritis Foundation of Chicago. Dr. Hozman has received recognition as an outstanding long term public presenter for this organization. During his early career, Dr. Hozman served as Assistant Clinical Professor in Rheumatology at the University of Illinois Clinics. He also conducts cutting-edge research in partnership with multi-national Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies.
